Stansted Area Housing Partnership is creating affordable new homes for rent and for shared ownership in the Stansted area - in Braintree, Harlow, East Herts and Uttlesford.

By pooling their resources, these areas can access more funds to build new homes than they could individually, and provide flexibility in the way that housing needs are addressed in the area.

Part of this is a unique system which means that residents of one district can apply for a home in one of the other three - something called 'cross border nominations'.

Put simply, this means that any new development built under the umbrella of the Partnership will have an allocation for people in each of the four districts (although it will be weighted in favour of the district in which the development is being built.)

You do not need to apply to all four local authorities to be nominated - you will still have to apply via your own home local authority.
