The Housing Corporation

The Housing Corporation is the Government agency responsible for regulating and investing in over 2,000 housing associations in England. Its biggest ever investment programme of £3.3 billion for 2004-06 will fund over 67,000 affordable homes. 16,000 of these will go to key workers and 25% will use some form of modern method of construction.

In the East of England the Housing Corporation has invested £204 million in 2004/06 and expects to deliver 5 000 new affordable homes. We support successful, thriving and inclusive communities by subsiding the supply and regulating the quality of affordable homeless and associated services for householders whose circumstances make it difficult for them to meet their housing needs in the open market, including the homeless, low income families, key workers and those in need of supported accommodation.
